Although the transition into HCI seemed daunting initially, I had no trouble connecting with my classmates and forging lifelong friendships. Even though I’m the only JAE student in my class, I cannot recall a time where I felt excluded. The people you meet at HCI are welcoming and easy-going.
One of the first things I noticed about HCI was its lively school spirit. Faculty events are plenty of fun with amazing performances and delicious food! I shared a lot of laughter watching my friends perform, and being able to hang out with them was definitely a stress-reliever.
At the Astronomy Club, I had a really good time making new friends across the cohort, and stargazing under the night sky. Joining the club inspired me to lead and take up the role of President. I found it meaningful to take charge and make the club a better place for its members.
At HCI, there are limitless opportunities for one to develop holistically. I was fortunate enough to partake in both Chemistry and Biology Olympiad training programmes, and be in SMTP. I enjoyed the frequent enrichment sessions and engaging talks, which fuelled my passion for science.
